Materials:
For industrial applications involving corrosive or abrasive media, ITT Water & Wastewater can offer certain sizes of drainage pumps and components built with materials adapted for the intended use.

These include:

Pump housings of cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum or bronze.

Impellers of stainless steel.

Wear parts of polymeric material (Poly-Life ®).
Operating permits:
Since the electric motor is an integral part of the submersible drainage pump, permits may be required for installation in certain areas where there is a risk of explosion. ITT Water & Wastewater offers a wide assortment of drainage pumps approved for use in coal mines and in such industrial settings as chemical and petrochemical facilities. Permits have been obtained in Europe, North America and Australia.

Automatic control:
For de-watering and drainage, pumps can be automatically regulated with the DPC control system. This exclusive ITT Water & Wastewater system senses the pump's power consumption and stops the pump at dry run. No sensors are required in the sump.

Automatic level control:
The ENM-10 system of level regulators is simple and reliable. When the liquid level rises to the regulator, the position of the regulator changes. A switch then opens or closes, starting or stopping the pump. The regulator can also be wired to trigger an alarm.
