ITT Industries of Canada L.P., (“ITT Canada”) is committed to protecting your Personal Information and maintaining the accuracy and security of Personal Information that we collect through our business operations, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”), and other applicable laws and regulations governing collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information (together “Privacy Laws”).
“Personal Information” throughout this Privacy Policy means any identifiable information about an individual, which may include your name, address, telephone number and credit card number or other financial information.
ITT Canada’s privacy practices are in accordance with the 10 guiding principles of PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation and are as follows:
1. Accountability. We have appointed a Privacy Officer to ensure compliance with our Privacy Policy and practices. We take responsibility for maintaining and protecting the Personal Information under our control, and any information that we may transfer to third parties who provide services to ITT Canada.
2. Identifying Purposes. Your Personal Information will only be used by ITT Canada for the purposes identified at the time of collection. These purposes may include, but are not limited to the following:
(a) to process any sales or rental transactions you may have with ITT Canada;
(b) to better understand your needs and improve the delivery of our services;
(c) to conduct credit checks where required; and
(d) to comply with any legal and statutory requirements;
Except as permitted by law, we will obtain your consent if we collect, use or disclose your Personal Information for purposes other than the ones outlined above and as identified to you at the time of collection.
3. Consent. By providing your Personal Information to ITT Canada you are deemed to have consented to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information for the purposes which were identified at the time of its collection and in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, you are requested not to provide any Personal Information to ITT Canada. However some of ITT Canada’s services can only be offered if you provide Personal Information to us. Consequently, if you choose not to provide us with any required Personal Information, we will not be able to offer you certain services.
4. Limiting Collection. We will not collect your Personal Information for purposes other than those identified above without your consent or except as provided for and in accordance with Privacy Laws. 5. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention. Except as provided in this Privacy Policy, ITT Canada does not sell, rent or lease Personal Information to any third parties. ITT Canada requires all its third party agents to adhere to strict privacy and security standards. If required by law, ITT Canada will disclose the Personal Information that it is obligated to discloses as a result of a valid legal enquiry or order. ITT Canada will only disclose as much Personal Information as necessary to comply with the legal requirements.
ITT Canada will only retain your Personal Information for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or to meet legal or contractual requirements.
6. Accuracy. ITT Canada is committed to ensuring that your Personal Information is up-to-date, accurate and complete as necessary for the purposes for which ITT Canada uses that data. You can correct any Personal Information which is inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date by sending a written request to our Privacy Officer. In situations where your Personal Information has been provided to ITT Canada by a third party, we will refer you to that third party.
7. Safeguards. ITT Canada uses technical and organizational security measures in order to protect the Personal Information we have under our control against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorized persons. We help ensure the security of your Personal Information by using the following:
(a) physically secure data centres and premises;
(b) internal security policies and procedures;
(c) limiting access to trained and essential ITT Canada employees; and
(d) electronic access controls such as password protection and encryption technologies.
8. Openness. If you have questions about the collection, use or disclosure of your Personal Information by ITT Canada you may contact our Privacy Officer. Requests for access, and any questions or concerns regarding the our Privacy Policy should be made in writing to the attention of the Privacy Officer at the following address:

9. Access. ITT Canada will respond to requests for access in accordance with applicable Privacy Laws. You may request access to your Personal Information at any time by submitting a written request to our Privacy Officer. ITT Canada may require a minimal fee in order to respond to an access request, and it will advise you of such fee in advance. ITT Canada will only refuse access to Personal Information in those circumstances permitted or required by applicable Privacy Laws. If ITT Canada refuses access, it will provide the reasons for its refusal. 10. Challenging Compliance. If you are dissatisfied with ITT Canada’s handling of Personal Information, you may make a written complaint to the Privacy Officer. The Privacy Officer will investigate the matter and take corrective action where necessary. The Privacy Officer will report back to you and advise you of any steps taken to correct the problem. If you are still dissatisfied with the response from ITT Canada you may make a written complaint to the federal or provincial Privacy Commissioner (where applicable).
